Vintage Turkish Oushak Kilim – 280 x 160 cm – Floral Motif – Handwoven Wool
Description
A distinctive vintage Turkish Oushak kilim from Anatolia, traditionally handwoven and decorated with an unusual repeating floral composition.
Measuring 280 x 160 cm (approximately 9.2 x 5.2 ft), this kilim features a rich dark brown and burgundy ground, covered with rows of stylized floral motifs in pink, muted red, beige and subtle blue accents.
The repeating flowers create a rhythmic all-over pattern, while the narrow decorative bands at both ends introduce additional small geometric details and contrasting colors. The restrained palette combined with the repetitive folk-art design gives the kilim a particularly authentic Anatolian character.
Rather than relying on a large central medallion, the weaver created visual movement through the repetition and alternating colors of the individual motifs. This makes the piece especially attractive for interiors where a strong vintage textile is desired without an overly dominant central composition.
Its warm earthy colors work particularly well with natural wood, mid-century furniture, rustic interiors, eclectic spaces and contemporary interiors.
