Description:
Loewe stamp-collector’s case, with the gold signature "Loewe Madrid – Barcelona" on the inside of the lid and along the edge. From its mark and style, it predates the 1970 logo and can be dated to the 1950s or early 1960s.
We have not found any similar piece on the market: neither on specialist portals nor among antique dealers have we found another Loewe philatelic case with this equipment. An uncommon opportunity for collectors.
The exterior is cognac-grained leather with a brass plaque bearing an "M". The interior is red leather with peach moiré lining and green velvet compartments. The hardware is brass and it has a lock with its original key. The lid features a gilt postal motif with a Spanish 5 cts Calderón de la Barca stamp.
It retains its original equipment:
• Philos odontometer, with scale from 7 to 16½.
• Tweezers.
• Black tray for watermarks.
• Two glass pots with lids.
• Two leather wallets with snap closures.
• A hidden drawer with fixed hinges.
