Description from the seller

Higonokami Knife Handle in Burnished Steel SK5 – Original SK5 Japanese Knife – Made in Japan

Category Catawiki:
Collectible knives / Traditional Japanese knives

Description:
Elegant traditional Japanese Higonokami knife, made in Japan following the historic artisanal tradition of renowned Japanese folders. This model features a refined construction with a burnished steel handle and a high-hardness carbon steel blade SK5 (around HRC 60), valued for its excellent cutting performance and long blade edge retention.

The minimalist and functional design is typical of authentic Higonokami: manual opening via rear lever (“chikiri”), slim profile and essential lines that recall the Japanese culture of the traditional utilitarian knife.

The burnished steel handle is embellished with inscriptions in Japanese and a terminal hole for a cord, a practical and characteristic detail of everyday-use Japanese knives. The blade presents a slender and elegant geometry, ideal for both collecting and light use.

Authentic Japanese-made item, highly sought after by enthusiasts of Eastern bladecraft, vintage-style EDC, and the Higonokami tradition.
