Statue, Heart-to-heart talk on a double bench - 15 cm - Bronze

This abstract bronze sculpture from the Showa period of Japan depicts two figures seated together on a bench, one with their hand on the other's shoulder, their hands clasped, conveying a tender moment of conversation, comfort, and companionship.

Employing a minimalist and impressionistic artistic approach, it downplays facial details and relies on physical gestures to convey emotion, typical of modern Japanese metal sculpture. Cast in bronze, the sculpture is heavy and its surface naturally possesses varying depths of patina, indicating years of use. Early repairs are visible on the figures' arms, a common practice for antique objects. The overall structure is stable and it can be placed comfortably.
