Secrétaire - Oak - Clamp desk, miniature.

A beautiful oak Rococo miniature drop-front desk (secretary). The lower cabinet has three drawers with brass fittings. Behind the slanted front lid there is a simple interior. Nicely scaled and with the correct proportions.

The piece is in good condition; there are a number of old restorations, and the hinges of the lid were replaced during a restoration.

This type of miniature furniture is often described as masterpieces, but it may also have been intended as toys.
