AI-assisted summary
Description from the seller
OLYMPUS 35 EC2, tested and working.
Hello from Japan!
We provide high-quality cameras and lenses to the world.
The Olympus 35 EC2 (1971) is a compact 35mm camera with a sharp E.Zuiko 42mm f/2.8 lens and fully automatic, electronically controlled exposure — a close cousin of the 35 EC and the forerunner of the famous 35 RC. Its programmed Seiko shutter needs no manual settings, and the camera will refuse to fire when there is too little light, so results are consistently well exposed. Small, quiet and simple to use, it remains an easy entry into 1970s Japanese compacts.
Condition: Used — Excellent
Pre-owned, moderate signs of use, optics clear
Serial Number
Please check the photo.
Appearance
Scuffs and scratches from normal use. Please check the photos for details.
Optical Condition
Lens: Clear, no haze, fungus or scratches
Viewfinder: Cleaned inside
Functional
Meter and shutter work.
Exposure runs about 1.6 stops over in bright light.
Light seals replaced; viewfinder and lens cleaned inside.
Measured Performance
We check these cameras on a shutter tester rather than by ear, and we publish what we measured:
- Light meter accuracy — EV12: 1.6 OVER / EV15: 1.7 OVER
Negative film has enough latitude to absorb deviations of this size, but the figures are here so you can judge for yourself.
Servicing
This camera was serviced by us before listing:
- Light seals (foam) replaced
- Viewfinder cleaned internally
- Lens cleaned internally
Bundled Items
Only what you can see in the pictures will be included in the package.
