AI-assisted summary
Description from the seller
CANON FTb QL + FD 50mm F1.8, tested and working.
Hello from Japan!
We provide high-quality cameras and lenses to the world.
The Canon FTb QL (1971) is a robust, all-mechanical 35mm SLR from Canon's FD-mount era, with TTL centre-weighted metering and Canon's Quick Loading (QL) system for fast, reliable film loading. Hugely popular with enthusiasts in the early 1970s, it accepts both FD and older FL lenses and remains a satisfying, fully mechanical camera to use. Offered here in chrome with the Canon FD 50mm f/1.8 standard lens.
Important — please read carefully:
The lens has fine dust inside and light haze near the edge of the rear element. Please review the photos before bidding.
Condition: Used — Good
Pre-owned, heavy signs of use, or minor optical flaws
Serial Number
Please check the photo.
Appearance
Scuffs and scratches from normal use. Please check the photos for details.
Optical Condition
Lens: Quite a lot of fine dust inside and light haze near the edge of the rear element
Viewfinder: Cleaned inside
Functional
Meter and shutter work; measured shutter speeds are accurate.
Exposure runs about 1 stop under.
Light seals replaced; viewfinder cleaned inside.
Measured Performance
We check these cameras on a shutter tester rather than by ear, and we publish what we measured:
- 1 s — measured 1/1 s (on the mark)
- 1/60 — measured 1/58 s (on the mark)
- 1/1000 — measured 1/1010 s (on the mark)
- Light meter accuracy — EV12: 1.1 UNDER / EV15: 1.2 UNDER
Negative film has enough latitude to absorb deviations of this size, but the figures are here so you can judge for yourself.
Servicing
This camera was serviced by us before listing:
- Light seals (foam) replaced
- Viewfinder cleaned internally
Known Issues
1. Fine dust inside the FD 50mm lens and light haze near the edge of the rear element.
