Pair of Bergère Vintage leatherette upholstered armchairs with Capitonné and carved wood – Baroque / Louis XV style - second half of the 20th century
Refined pair of antique chairs in a classic/baroque style, characterized by a high, enveloping backrest with tufted upholstery executed to a high standard. The chairs are upholstered in faux leather in a blond cognac shade, embellished along the profiles of the arms with traditional metal studs. Both chairs were in my grandmother's house in her living room. A style from another era.
The frame and the curved legs (cabriole) are made of carved wood with floral motifs and decorative scrolls along the top rail and the front fascia.
The pieces show a charming patina of time and light signs of wear on the seats, which confer an authentic vintage character and bear witness to their history.
