Description from the seller
This is a vintage porcelain figurine of the Virgin Mary of Our Lady of Lourdes. The image shows Mary in a traditional praying pose with folded hands, clothed in a white gown with the characteristic blue sash.
This stamp confirms that your Mary figurine is an original piece from the famous German porcelain manufacturer Goebel.
Using this specific mark we can accurately date and identify the statue:
• Production period (1979–1990): This blue logo without the traditional 'bee' (the bee), combined with the text "W. Germany", is known among collectors and experts as the TMK-6 mark (also called the Missing Bee). This means your statue was produced between 1979 and 1990, just before the reunification of Germany.
• Model number (impressed): At the top of the bottom you can vaguely see a number impressed into the porcelain (possibly starting with 40 102 or a similar code). This is the unique model number Goebel used to register the mold of this particular design in the factory.
• Painter's initials: On the right side of the Goebel logo you can see handwritten black or brown initials or numbers. This is the signature of the porcelain painter who then, in the German workshop, manually applied the blue sash, the roses, and the details on Mary's face."
