Lion Toys 1:43 Complete 125-year Anniversary Series Technische Unie (10 models, unopened) + later LZV Mercedes Actros combination + reference work “Lion Toys, Innovation at Scale 1946-2001”
Description
On the occasion of Technische Unie’s 125th anniversary in 2005, Lion Toys released a unique 1:43 scale model series that depicts the company’s history in ten vehicles—from the handcart of 1880 to the modern Mercedes Actros as of 2005. The series was offered at a substantial price exclusively to TU employees, which greatly limited the edition. Some of these sets have since been taken apart and sold separately — a complete, originally packaged set like this is therefore rare on the market.
This lot contains the full series, each still in its original packaging:
1. 1880-1900 — Handcart
2. 1900-1920 — Vabis 1909
3. 1920-1930 — T-Ford
4. 1930-1940 — Kromhout (the most sought-after model in the series)
5. 1940-1950 — Renault Van
6. 1950-1960 — Daf Torpedo
7. 1960-1970 — Daf 33
8. 1970-1980 — Daf 2300
9. 1980-1990 — Mercedes 1933 with canvas trailer
10. 1990-2005 — Mercedes Actros
Extra: the later-released 2005 Mercedes Actros LZV combination (two tractor-trailer combinations in one box), which from April 2005 represented Technische Unie’s fleet for longer trips — an addition not included in every original set.
Included: the reference work “Lion Toys – Innovation at Scale 1946-2001” by J. Wouters and Th. van Oort, documenting the history and background of the manufacturer and these models, and underpinning the origin of the series.

Originally purchased as a staff edition at Technische Unie on the occasion of the 125th anniversary in 2005. Since then kept in the same ownership.
