Description from the seller
Large decorative vase in glazed ceramic with serpent handles – Early 20th century
Scenographic and important vase in artistic ceramic dating from the early 20th century. The piece stands out for its imposing silhouette and strong visual impact, characterized by rich painted decoration with foliate and stylized motifs in green and white on a deep cobalt blue background, resting on a contoured foot.
A standout feature and sculptural character are the complex serpent-shaped handles that climb along the sides with scroll motifs, painted with a distinctive speckled green coat.
Note on condition: The object shows the usual patina of time and a missing/chipped section on one of the curling ends of the handles, an aesthetic flaw clearly visible in the photograph but that does not compromise the piece’s extraordinary decorative presence.
An antique piece of high ceramic craftsmanship, ideal for collectors, interior designers, and lovers of eclectic and historic taste.
