Description from the seller
Set of 5 decorative plates “Au Village” · Creil & Montereau · France · Scenes of traditional trades from the late 19th century - early 20th century.
Nice set of 5 French decorative plates belonging to the “Au Village” series, a classic collection that depicts scenes of trades and daily life in French villages. Each plate shows a central black illustration, accompanied by a blue border with ornamental motifs related to tools, books, utensils and rural elements.
The scenes include traditional professions such as the notary, the maréchal-ferrant (blacksmith), the butcher, and other emblematic figures of village life. Its graphic style recalls 19th-century engravings, making them very attractive pieces for collectors and lovers of French historical ceramics.
