Description from the seller
English Mahogany Sideboard from the Early 1900s in Victorian Style with Arch-Top Doors and Refined Natural Grains
Elegant and prestigious English mahogany sideboard, Victorian in taste, featuring a monumental structure and a splendid glossy finish in warm mahogany red tones. The piece presents a wide rectangular upper surface, embellished with molded borders and gently rounded corners, giving the whole a harmonious and refined appearance. The front is articulated into two slightly protruding side bodies and a central recessed body, creating a pleasant architectural motion. The four hinged doors are enriched with elegant panels framed by arched moldings, inside which the spectacular flame-like wood grain stands out, particularly evident thanks to the brilliant gloss. The central part is further adorned by a large, shaped and fluted upper band that hides a practical pull-out compartment. Internally, the piece offers considerable storage capacity: the left side compartment contains an internal drawer and shelves, while the right side has a top shelf and a large lower drawer with a metal handle. The central body houses a large cavity with a lower shelf and a contoured backrest, ideal for storing place settings, porcelain and precious objects. The doors are equipped with locks with discreet escutcheons, perfectly integrated into the structure. The base continues the aesthetic, enriched with fluted moldings and rounded corners, completing the solid and prestigious look of the furniture. An interesting detail is the presence of a brand impressed into the wood with the inscription “LIDMA,” visible in photographic close-ups. A piece of furniture of great charm and stage presence, ideal for dining rooms, drawing rooms, studies or classic representative environments, capable of enhancing any space with the timeless elegance of English furnishings.
