Up for auction: an extraordinary, compact and high-performance wide-angle to standard zoom lens: the Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar 35-70mm f/3.4 T*, produced in Japan for the prestigious Contax/Yashica SLR system starting in the 1980s.
The lot presents in excellent overall condition, perfectly functional, and is complete with its original Contax front lens cap and the protective rear cap.
Optics: The lens features the exceptional original optical design marked by the prestigious T* emblem engraved in red, with its multi-layer anti-reflective coating. The glass elements are in excellent preservation condition, clean, transparent, and completely free of scratches or traces of mold or internal fungi.
Mechanical: The lot has been tested and is functioning. The main rubber-coated ring used to regulate manual focus as well as to vary the zoom focal length slides smoothly and continuously without stiffness throughout its travel.
