Iconic large Lumax Recuit glass ashtray designed by Charlotte Perriand, made in France by Saint-Gobain between 1960 and 1970, in transparent pressed and molded glass, 15 × 15 × 8 cm, in fairly good used condition with a minor side chip.
Description from the seller
Iconic glass ashtray, model "Lumax Recuit", designed by Charlotte Perriand. Made in France between 1960 and 1970 by the house Saint-Gobain.
This is the large-size Lumax model, a rarer version of the design.
Executed in pressed and molded translucent glass, "recuit" (thermally annealed for strength), the piece reflects the architect's commitment to the purity of forms and functional modernism.
The ashtray bears the inscription "Lumax" and "Recuit" on one face, which confirms its authenticity.
Original condition with a slight chip on the left side (SEE PHOTOS), light wear due to age and use.
A design object of great collectability — which can serve as an ashtray, a trinket tray, or a decorative accent.
