Description from the seller
2 euro Italy 2024 UNC - 250th Anniversary Guardia di Finanza
The first 2 euro Italy 2024 is dedicated to the Guardia di Finanza. The coin features at its center a stylized version of the heraldic emblem of the Guardia di Finanza Corps, which interprets the concept of security and provides a view of the future of the Corps' role, celebrating the past by combining it with the future and the challenges it will continue to face... This emblem encapsulates several elements: the mountain, the sea and the sky, the natural environments in which the Corps operates, the griffin, a mythical creature which, according to legend, watches over the Treasury, represented by the Public Treasury, and the crenellated tower crown. At the bottom, RI, the acronym of the Italian Republic; in the exergue, the dates 1774-2024, respectively the year of creation of the Guardia di Finanza Corps and the year of the coin’s issuance; on the right, R, the identifying mark of the Rome Mint, and MB, the initials of the designer Marta Bonifacio; at the top, in an arched form, the inscription GUARDIA DI FINANZA.
