Description from the seller
Exceptional unique artwork, entirely hand-carved, depicting a Tyrannosaurus Rex in a dynamic and roaring pose.
The sculpture was carved from the solid core of a fossil mammoth tusk from East Siberia, an ancient material dating back around 20,000 years, completely legal and saleable.
The piece showcases technical mastery of excellence, executed by subtractive carving with hours of finishing and manual polishing that confer an extraordinary silky, warm shine, highlighting every anatomical and muscular detail.
The piece is accompanied by its rare original official certificate of authenticity issued in December 1999 by Dr. Wolfgang Weitschat, curator of the prestigious Geologic-Paleontological Institute at the University of Hamburg, complete with printed photographic corroboration on the document.
