Refined sculpture of Mary holding the swaddled Baby Jesus in her arm and supporting him with her other hand. The tender portrayal is rendered with flowing mantle folds, finely carved faces, and blooming branches along the base. The slender figure and floral details point to Art Nouveau influences. The light translucency and natural veining of alabaster give the carving additional depth.
Height: 36 cm. Signed 'G. Gambogi' on the base. In good overall condition, with a repaired break at the base whose crack lines remain visible.
