Rated Excellent on Trustpilot.
Original glass cardholder sculpture from China in a mid-20th century dynastic style, measuring 5.7 cm high, 12.2 cm wide and 3.6 cm deep, with a cobalt blue base and dragon relief, in excellent condition and authentic.
Description from the seller
A highly distinctive sculpture / decorative vessel in artistic glass, reminiscent of the shape of an ancient Chinese ding (ritual vessel), reinterpreted in a modern, asymmetric style in the mid-20th century.
It features a semicircular or U-shaped profile, characterized by thick blocks of transparent and frosted glass. The central part is recessed to form a basin or cup, and it incorporates raised-relief motifs depicting the traditional Chinese dragon (long), a symbol of authority, prosperity, and professional success.
The base of the object is imbued with an intense cobalt blue that gradually fades upward, leaving the upper part of the crystal clear and transparent. This chromatic transition creates a striking effect of depth and light refraction.
The outer surface is finely worked with intricate ornamental relief motifs inspired by traditional Asian art and mythological creatures (such as dragons or phoenixes). The details alternate between polished sections and areas with a frosted/sandblasted finish, highlighting the dynamism of the volutes and the geometric bas-reliefs.
Commonly used as a desk accessory for executives or as a gift on occasions of promotions and corporate openings.
Intact, excellent condition
Dimensions: 5.7 cm H × 12.2 cm W × 3.6 cm D; weight 39.4 g
Ideal for collectors or for tasteful gifts.
Insured shipping with professional packing.
