Group of violet amethyst crystals with calcite on a calcite matrix from Cava Capurru, Osilo, Sassari, Sardinia, Italy; weight 151 g; dimensions 96 × 54 × 50 mm.
Description from the seller
From our selection of collectible minerals we offer a splendid group of Amethyst crystals with Chalcedony from the Capurru Quarry, Osilo, Sardinia, Italy.
Moreover, it is characterized by sharp Amethyst crystals with an intense violet color that stand out on a drusy matrix of microcrystalline Chalcedony, with good transparency and a well-developed prismatic habit, elements that increase its aesthetic value and mineralogical importance.
The specimen stands out for the quality of crystallization and for the overall aesthetic balance, with features that enhance its natural structure and visual impact.
Amethyst is a variety of quartz whose characteristic purple color is due to traces of iron present in the crystal lattice, modified by natural irradiation phenomena that occurred during formation. Chalcedony, also a microcrystalline form of silica, constitutes the matrix on which the crystals developed. The Capurru Quarry of Osilo, in the Sassari province, is one of Sardinia’s best-known localities for the discovery of amethysts of decent aesthetic quality, linked to hydrothermal veins in volcanic rocks.
This is an ideal specimen for mineralogical collections, display, and for those who appreciate the natural beauty of minerals, also in the context of crystal therapy and lithotherapy, according to the properties traditionally associated with the mineral species.
All minerals are 100% natural and untreated, except for rare exceptions always indicated in the description. Photographs are taken with professional lighting to best enhance colors and details; however, slight variations in shade may occur depending on the device or ambient light.
Shipping is carried out via reliable and selected express couriers, with fast delivery (in many cases 1-2 working days within Europe), tracked and insured shipping and professional and safe packaging, as confirmed by customer reviews. Deliveries can also take place the day after payment depending on the destination.
It is possible to combine multiple purchases and receive them in a single shipment, even from auctions with different end dates, simply by contacting us to arrange the consolidation. For important pieces, direct home delivery or delivery at major European fairs by appointment is also available.
