A pair of Chinese cloisonné enamel bowls with a dark wooden base, turquoise interiors, and gilded rims and knobs, dating from around 1950–1960.
Description from the seller
This is a pair of Chinese bowls made with the traditional cloisonné technique, an ancient form of decorative art. Their appeal lies in the detailed floral motifs and the rich color palette, which make them pieces with a strong visual impact and a testament to refined artisanal skill.
The bowls are made of metal with enamel applied using the cloisonné technique, which uses thin metal wires to separate the different color areas. The edges and the knobs of the lids are finished in gold-colored metal, while the interior features a striking turquoise enamel in contrast. Each bowl is accompanied by a dark carved wooden base that enhances its display.
The bowls are in generally good condition, consistent with their age and past use. The enamel finish is intact and retains its vivid coloration, showing character and the patina of time. The wooden supports are structurally solid and complete the objects' aesthetics.
Thanks to their compact size and decorative value, these bowls are ideal for enriching a console, a bookcase, or a display cabinet. They integrate perfectly into classic, eclectic, or Asian-inspired interiors, adding a touch of color and history.
