A blue Estetica Celestina crystal group on matrix, from Canicassè mines, Caltanissetta, Sicily, Italy; weight 554 g; dimensions 115 × 86 × 41 mm; bright blue colour with UV sensitivity.
Description from the seller
From our selection of collectible minerals, we present an aesthetically pleasing group of Celestine crystals on a white matrix from the Canicassè mines, Caltanissetta, Sicily.
Moreover, it is characterized by tabular crystals of intense blue color arranged in aggregates on a white matrix, with good transparency, sharp crystal faces, and sensitivity to ultraviolet light, which enhances its aesthetic value and mineralogical significance.
The specimen stands out for the quality of crystallization and for the overall aesthetic balance, with features that highlight its natural structure and visual impact.
Celestine is a strontium sulfate (SrSO4) named from the Latin caelestis, meaning “heavenly” or “celestial,” in reference to the typical pale blue color that often distinguishes it. Sicily, and in particular the area around Caltanissetta linked to sulfide-bearing deposits, is one of the most renowned historic localities in the world for the museum-quality Celestine crystals. In some specimens a UV light reactivity has been observed, due to traces of elements present in the crystal lattice.
This is an ideal specimen for mineralogical collections, display, and for those who appreciate the natural beauty of minerals, also in the context of crystal therapy and lithotherapy, according to the properties traditionally associated with the mineral species.
All minerals are 100% natural and untreated, except for very rare exceptions always noted in the description. Photographs are taken with professional lighting to best showcase colors and details; however, slight tonal variations may occur depending on the device or ambient light.
Shipping is carried out via reliable, select express couriers, with fast delivery (in many cases 1-2 working days within Europe), tracked and insured shipping and professional and safe packing, as confirmed by customer reviews. Deliveries can also occur the day after payment depending on the destination.
Multiple purchases can be accumulated and shipped in a single shipment, even from auctions with different end dates, simply by contacting us to arrange the consolidation. For important pieces, direct delivery by appointment to your home or at major European fairs is also available.
