The Amarone della Valpolicella aged in oak, coming from the Veneto wine region, presents in the glass with a dense ruby red. With a slight tilt of the glass, the red wine reveals at the edge a fascinating garnet tone. After the first swirl, this red wine shows high viscosity, manifested in pronounced tears on the glass. This Italian cuvée delights in the glass with wonderful and intense expressive notes of cooked plums, sour cherry, raisins and prunes. Hints of other fruits are added.
Fasoli Gino Amarone della Valpolicella impresses with its elegantly dry taste profile. It was bottled with only 2.1 grams of residual sugar. As one would expect from a high-end wine, this Italian enchants, despite its dryness, with a very fine balance. The aroma does not necessarily need a lot of sugar. On the palate this intensely colored red wine stands out for an incredibly velvety texture. Thanks to its lively fruit acidity, the Amarone della Valpolicella presents itself on the palate wonderfully fresh and lively. The finish of this wine, with excellent aging potential and from the Veneto wine region, more precisely from the Valpolicella DOC, ultimately wins with a notably persistent aftertaste.
Vinification of Fasoli Gino Amarone della Valpolicella
The starting point for Fasoli Gino’s Amarone della Valpolicella cuvée, first class and wonderfully powerful, are the grapes Corvina, Corvinone and Rondinella. After harvest, the grapes are immediately brought to the winery. Here they are carefully selected and crushed. This is followed by fermentation in small wooden barrels at controlled temperatures. At the end of fermentation, the organic Amarone della Valpolicella is aged for several months in oak barriques.
Food pairing for Fasoli Gino Amarone della Valpolicella
Enjoy this organic Italian red ideally served at 15 - 18°C as an accompaniment to chickpea curry, vegetable stew with pesto, or pasta with sausage meatballs.
