Description from the seller

Military cockpit clock Universal Genève "A. Cairelli Roma" - Type A-13 - 1940s/1950s

Mechanical cockpit/board clock, originally designed for military purposes and supplied by the renowned company A. Cairelli Roma with a movement from the prestigious Swiss manufacturer Universal Genève.
This lot represents a piece of pure history of Italian military horology and aviation of the era. To preserve its beauty and allow everyday use, the watch has been placed inside an elegant transparent plexiglass/resin display block. In this way it becomes an exclusive table or desk clock of the highest collectible design, while keeping intact the square form of its original black bakelite flange with the characteristic mounting holes at the corners.
The matte black dial is in splendid condition, designed at the time for maximum legibility in flight. It features Arabic numerals and indices with a fascinating patina of age, the running seconds subdial positioned at 6 o’clock, and the original crown for winding and setting at lower right.
