AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Baluster-shaped Art Deco decorative vase in black hyalite glass, decorated with gilding of leaping deer.
The foot is finished with a wide gilded band and three narrow circles.

Hyalite glass is opaque and has a jet-black color that strongly recalls Asian lacquerware. It was developed in the early 19th century by the Bohemian count and glassmaker Georg von Buquoy. The hyalite glass technique was brought to Belgium by Bohemian glassmakers during the interwar period. It is especially the De Rupel glass factory in Boom that became known for its high-quality hyalite glass decorated with gilding.

This design is possibly by Paul Heller, one of the leading glass artists and chief designers for the well-known Glasfabriek De Rupel in Boom.

The gold finish is in very good condition. One of the deer shows some loss of gold.
The vase has been photographed from all sides. The photos are an integral part of the description
