Rare vintage ceramic sculpture of a crouching cheetah, designed by Italian master Giovanni Ronzan, dating from the 1960s–1970s, hand-painted in polychrome with a glossy high-gloss glaze, in good condition with minor signs of age.
Description from the seller
A stunning and rare vintage ceramic sculpture of a stalking leopard (or cheetah), designed by the renowned Italian master Giovanni Ronzan (Turin, Italy). This high-quality piece dates from the 1960s/1970s and is in beautiful vintage condition.
Ronzan is worldwide known for his expressive and anatomically perfect animal sculptures. This specific model is extra special because of the dynamic, active pose: the predator is captured in a stalking motion with a slightly open mouth.
The sculpture is entirely hand-painted (polychrome) and finished with the characteristic deep, high-gloss glaze that is typical of the better Italian ateliers from this period (strongly influenced by the famous Lenci style). An absolute eye-catcher for fans of Mid-Century Modern, Hollywood Regency and high-end vintage design.
