TUI fly was founded as TUI Airlines Belgium in autumn 2003 and has been active since March 20, 2004. Originally, the plan was to start with two aircraft. Due to the shutdown of Sobelair, which operated most of the flights for the then-touroperator Jetair, the startup was accelerated and expanded. In the first season the fleet consisted of five mid‑range aircraft.
On November 23, 2005, the airline’s commercial name was renamed Jetairfly (as part of the new brand strategy), alongside touroperator Jetair, also travel agency chain TUI shop (formerly TUI TravelCenter and Jetaircenter).
In November 2010 Jetairfly became the first European airline to introduce the Boeing 737 with a new so‑called "Boeing Sky Interior".
In spring 2012 the Moroccan low-cost airline Jet4you, part of the TUI group, was fully integrated into Jetairfly.
Since March 2012 all flights have been operated as scheduled services, whereas previously some flights were also operated as charter flights. This, in addition to broader commercial advantages, means that all flights can be booked in both directions, also by non-EU citizens.
Early 2013 Jetairfly was the world’s first vacation carrier to use the Embraer E-Jet 190.
In autumn 2013 TUI moved into Jetairport, an office building combined with an aircraft maintenance hangar at Brussels Airport.
In December 2013 Jetairfly took its first Belgian Boeing 787 "Dreamliner" into service.
In 2015 TUI, under a wet-lease contract, operated flights for ECAir, the national airline of Congo-Brazzaville. This ended at the end of 2016.[7][8]
In May 2015 the TUI Group announced that it would bring all its airlines under the same brand name "TUI" within a two-year period. Each airline would continue to exist as a separate entity and retain its national Air Operator’s Certificate (AOC).[9]
On October 19, 2016 the airline’s brand name was changed to TUI fly, as part of a strategy to make all brand names clearly under the TUI Group.
In March 2018 TUI fly Belgium took its second Boeing 787 "Dreamliner" - registration OO-LOE - into the Belgian fleet[10]. The aircraft came from the UK airline TUI Airways. In January 2024 the aircraft was transferred to the fleet of TUI fly Netherlands. The new registration is PH-TFJ.
This aircraft trolley has an industrial look and can be used as a nightstand, storage space, or for example as a side table.
