Natural Moldavite meteorite in an exceptional rough piece form with an intense green colour, weighing 12.66 g and measuring 37 × 24 × 11 mm, originating from the Czech Republic.
Description from the seller
This impressive Moldavite displays an exceptionally vivid green coloration that, depending on the lighting, ranges from deep forest and olive greens to brilliant emerald green nuances. Especially under brighter lighting, the piece reveals its pronounced translucence and develops a fascinating inner depth.
A notable feature is the highly textured surface. Numerous rounded, intermingling depressions and elevations give the Moldavite a remarkably plastically textured look. In addition, there are glassy-looking areas with typical flow and fracture structures. In incident light, these different structures become especially pronounced, creating a lively interplay of bright, almost transparent parts and intensely saturated green zones.
Moldavite belongs to the tektite group and formed about 15 million years ago as a result of the enormous meteorite impact that formed the Ries crater in southern Germany. The vast energy released during the impact melted terrestrial rock material and ejected it over great distances. While flying through the atmosphere, the melt cooled and solidified into the characteristic green natural glass that is known today as Moldavite.
This piece comes from the Czech Republic, the classic locality for Moldavite. Especially specimens with strong green color, good translucency, and clearly pronounced surface structure are particularly sought after by collectors. Due to the limited mining areas and finite natural deposits, high-quality Moldavite also holds a special standing among tektites and collectible minerals.
Moldavite also enjoys an exceptional reputation metaphysically. It is traditionally regarded as a stone of profound change, expanded consciousness, and personal development. It is attributed with particularly intense energy that is said to help dissolve entrenched patterns and open up new perspectives.
A characterful natural Moldavite rough, particularly prized for its unusually plastic surface texture, its intense green coloration, and its impressive effect in backlight.
