Couple - Dogon - Mali

Ancient Dogon couple. They represent the primordial couple.
They are seated on a traditional stool.
The male figure has his hand on his partner's shoulder.
Both wear a large labret.
They appear to be in a pose of contemplation, hands resting on their knees.
The wood is dense, the patina dark and seems to have undergone libations during ceremonies.
The couple is in good condition.
