This extraordinary Ocean Jasper freeform impresses with its imposing size, its distinctive natural shape, and a fascinating interplay of warm red, rust, brown, gold, green, and cream colors. The polished surface highlights the different structures of the stone particularly dramatically and, depending on the viewing angle, repeatedly creates new color and depth effects. Characteristic are the irregularly merging areas and contrasting drawings that give this unique piece its unmistakable character. Ocean Jasper is marketed as a designation for orbicular or spheroidal Jasper and Chalcedony materials and is especially well known from the northwest coast of Madagascar. This freeform shows a particularly earthy, powerful color scheme with numerous natural inclusions, fine lines, and exciting transitions that evoke an abstract landscape. The highly glossy polish additionally creates an impressive play of light between the slightly translucent areas and the opaque, intensely colored parts.
