Description from the seller
This extraordinary sphere made of sphalerite, galena, wurtzite, and marcasite comes from the famous Olkusz mining district in Poland and fascinatingly combines metallic luster, complex structures, and earthy color play.
The perfectly polished surface reveals an impressive interplay of golden-yellow, silvery, and deep black tones, interwoven with fine lines and contrasts that look almost graphic.
The variety of minerals contained makes this sphere a true treasure for collectors and lovers of rare rock formations. The metallic luster of the galena and the distinctive zones of sphalerite and marcasite create an almost hypnotic depth—each turn reveals new facets and structures that resemble a geological work of art.
With its powerful presence, this sphere is suitable not only as an exclusive display piece but also as a special object for geological studies or as a striking focal point with character. Its origin from the traditional mining region of Olkusz underscores the rarity and authenticity of this find.
