Description from the seller
This impressive amber step from Sumatra captivates with its powerful presence and the multifaceted play of colors. At rest, the surface shows a deep, almost black base tone, interwoven with golden-brown and honey-colored inclusions as well as wild, natural structures that give the piece an archaic aura.
When strongly backlit, a spectacular, fiery glow reveals itself inside — like molten lava, trapped in millions of years old resin. Especially fascinating is the strong blue fluorescence under UV light: the entire piece transforms into a mysteriously shimmering blue landscape, threaded with fine structures and stratifications.
This unusual combination of a deep base tone, a bright red core, and blue fluorescence makes Sumatran amber one of the most fascinating representatives of its kind.
An extraordinary collector’s piece that inspires awe in every display — whether as a natural work of art or as a testament to long geological history, captured in fossilized resin.
