Rated Excellent on Trustpilot.
A small glass vase in a ball or purse shape with an acid-etched violet flower motif, featuring white, violet and gilt detailing, measuring 5.5 cm high by 5 cm in diameter and weighing 50 g, made in Saint-Denis, France by François-Théodore Legras (Montjoye series) dating to 1910–1920, in excellent condition.
Description from the seller
Very beautiful small vase of purse/ball shape with a gilt-edged collar, pinched inward and with an opaque frosted base, free from acid, featuring delicately etched violets also revealed by acid, from the famous French glassmaker François-Théodore Legras (1839-1916). It is part of the Montjoye series and was made in Saint-Denis. The Montjoye gilded stamp is no longer present, but the vase is listed in numerous works including Vitrat's. It bears at the base a small number 8 painted in gold.
It is in very good condition, especially given its age: over one hundred years old! No cracks, chips, or scratches.
The gilding on the collar, as well as on the leaves and stems of the flowers, is still well-preserved, as is the violet enamel of the acid-etched flower motif. A trace of the pontil polished at the base testifies to the artisanal glassblowing work.
This vase is a very beautiful piece, very delicate and as prestigious as those dating from the same period from Daum, Gallé, Muller brothers, Schneider (Le Verre Français), Saint Louis and Baccarat, manufactured and/or designed in Lorraine in eastern France.
Dimensions: 5.5 cm in height x 5 cm in diameter.
Weight: 50 grams.
Carefully observe all the photos which are an integral part of the description.
Note to collectors and/or lovers of fine decorative objects.
Fast and very careful shipping.
