Description from the seller
Set of 12 mouth-blown crystal whiskey tumblers, height 10.1 cm x diameter 6.7 cm. They feature vertical ribbed (pleated or optic ribbing) channels running along the entire body and a top rim finished with a thin brush of gold applied/gilded. The base is thick and flat. Dating roughly to the mid-20th century (circa 1950–1970), a period when Mid-Century Modern and Neoclassical styles made crystal tableware with faceted/ribbed work and gold finishes very popular. Condition and workmanship: The gilding shows slight irregularities and wear typical of artisanal/manual production and the passage of time, confirming the probable vintage dating (mid-20th century). It shows the bottom of the glass, revealing the acid-etched factory mark. Manufacturer: Nason Moretti (founded in Murano as Nason & Moretti). The registered logo is clearly legible, consisting of the N monogram (or the stylized double N/M enclosed in a square) with the word 'MURANO' underneath. Nason Moretti is one of the island’s most important historic glassworks, famed for producing goblets, glasses, and tableware of the highest artistic quality. The punching or acid-etching on the bottom is the typical factory signature used by the furnace for its high-end tableware in the postwar and vintage period. Status: discontinued.
