A cabinet-sized Cavansite specimen in a crystal-on-matrix form with Stilbite, weighing 282 g and measuring about 10 × 8 × 6 cm, from Pune, Maharashtra, India.
Description from the seller
An attractive cabinet-sized specimen featuring numerous vivid electric-blue cavansite rosettes beautifully distributed among pearly white to translucent stilbite crystals on a natural beige matrix.
The cavansite forms delicate radiating aggregates of fine needle-like crystals, creating striking blue clusters across the specimen. The associated stilbite occurs as well-developed bladed and fan-shaped crystals with a characteristic pearly lustre.
The combination of brilliant blue cavansite and white stilbite gives the specimen excellent colour contrast and an appealing three-dimensional appearance.
Locality: Poona (now Pune), Maharashtra, India, as recorded on the original historical collection label.
Dimensions: Approximately 10 × 8 × 6 cm
Weight: 282 g
Condition: Very good overall display condition. Numerous cavansite aggregates are well preserved. Some stilbite crystals show minor edge wear and natural contact areas. Please refer to the detailed photographs.
Provenance: Old Danish Mineral Collection. The original historical label reading “cavansit / pona indien” is preserved and will accompany the specimen.
