Berkana rugs are undoubtedly among the most durable carpets on the current market of Oriental carpets, rich in color and with fine patterns; they are inspired by the designs of Persian Kerman carpets but are knotted in China. Legend has it that these carpets were made by people who were imprisoned in China and thus had a social function; this type of rug is ideal for classic interiors, the very compact knotting ensures their durability, they are the most durable carpets in circulation; in fact they are specimens from more than 30–40 years ago that are still intact. The predominant colors are usually light blue, azure, and blue; it is almost impossible to find red. Born from a recent production in the 1990s, the Berkana over the years filled homes all over Europe. The classic knot is usually of medium fineness, but there are still some specimens with ultra-fine knots equal to the best Persian knots. The presented rug measures 280*185 cm and the predominant color is blue with colorful floral designs typical of this type of rug.
