Description from the seller
For sale is an iconic two-piece wall-mounted coat-rack set, model “Kantra,” designed by Richard Clack for IKEA in the late 1990s or early 2000s. The set is an outstanding example of affordable Scandinavian postmodern design, strongly influenced by the organic plywood designs of legendary architect Alvar Aalto.
The set captivates with its minimalist aesthetics and the masterful workmanship of light, high-gloss lacquered, molded birch plywood. The flowing, curved lines and the distinctive, wavy cutouts are not only a visual highlight but also provide a clever, functional hanging for clothing hangers, coats, and accessories.
The set is in fully functional condition with the usual light signs of aging and use in the wood.
