Akai - GX-635D Direct-Drive Auto-Reverse 6-Head Stereo Reel to reel deck 26 cm

Vintage reel-to-reel tape recorder, this Akai GX-635D is the definitive piece for your Hi-Fi setup, a real jewel of the golden age of Japanese analog audio.
GX Heads (Glass & X'tal Ferrite): Famous for being practically indestructible and wear-resistant. They guarantee optimal performance for life with no loss of high frequencies.
Total Auto-Reverse: Automatic bidirectional recording and playback. Maximum listening convenience without having to flip the reels.
3-Motor Drive: Central Direct Drive motor (direct drive on the capstan), no main transmission belts, for ultra-low wow & flutter.
Excellent cosmetic condition with minor signs of wear; note the absence of the wooden side panels, which are easy to source or make to the buyer’s taste. Recently some servicing has been performed to ensure perfect operation; the two reels shown in the photos are not included, but I’m including 2 empty 26 cm plastic reels still sealed.
Carefully packed and shipped insured.
