Splendid and rare modernist sculpture in the form of an articulated, bendable fish (Gliederfish), by the renowned Peruvian designer Graziella Laffi active in Lima from the 1950s. The work is entirely crafted in sterling silver 925 and stands out for its exceptional artisanal craftsmanship. The body is composed of overlapping silver bands, finely hand-hammered to resemble scales, skillfully hinged together to allow a flexible and extremely realistic movement of the structure. The eyes have a strong expressive impact, enhanced by the setting of two turquoise paste cabochons. On the caudal fin the punches are cold-stamped. Excellent vintage condition.
