Description from the seller
Silkscreen-printed advertising mirror dedicated to the historic Southwestern Stage Company – American Express Company, with a wooden frame. Attributable, in style and construction, to the second half of the 20th century, presumably the 1970s–1980s, a period when objects inspired by historic American advertising were particularly widespread.
The mirror evokes the fascinating history of American transportation companies of the 19th century, when horse-drawn stagecoaches traversed the Far West, transporting passengers, goods and mail. The decoration depicts an evocative horse-drawn stagecoach, accompanied by elegant typographic inscriptions in red, gold and black, blue details and refined silver ornaments.
The reference to American Express celebrates the company’s historical origins, founded in 1850 as a company specialized in the express transport of goods and valuables.
The mirror is presented in excellent overall condition, both aesthetically and structurally. The mirrored surface retains excellent brilliance. The screens are perfectly legible, with vivid colors and well-defined decorative details. The wooden frame also appears in excellent condition,
