Rated Excellent on Trustpilot.
Revue 400SE 35 mm camera, functional condition tested and working, very good physical condition, serial number 80605139.
Description from the seller
The Revue 400SE is a "rebadged" model that was sold by the German catalog retailer Foto-Quelle.
The lens on the Revue camera carries the name "Revuenon" instead of the well-known name "Rokkor" from Minolta.
The optical performance of both lenses is nearly equivalent.
The Revue 400SE is equipped with a very fast f1.7/40mm lens with six elements (just like the Minolta Hi-Matic 7SII) known for its incredible sharpness and very pleasant contrast.
The Revue 400SE is a shutter-priority automatic camera.
The offered camera is in very nice cosmetic condition, although there are here and there very small signs of use.
On the glass there are a few very minuscule and fine hairline scratches visible when the camera is held at a certain angle in the light. These minuscule imperfections will certainly have no effect on the photographs taken.
Focusing operates very smoothly and without sticking, and the dual image of the rangefinder still has good, clear contrast. The two subfields are both horizontally and vertically perfectly aligned and calibrated.
When inserting a battery (1.35V) the light meter works very accurately. The 1.35V battery is not included. A 1.5V battery can also be used, but the user will then need to adjust the ASA settings. (Example: when using 400ASA film the camera should be set to 200 or 100ASA. If you do not do this, many photos will be underexposed.) Alternatively, the user can look for a 1.35V battery or a 1.5V battery in combination with a diode adapter that reduces the 1.5V to 1.35V.
All shutter speeds from B, 1/8 sec to 1/500 sec operate very well by ear.
A new light seal has been installed in the film chamber.
The film counter also works excellently and automatically resets to zero when opening the film door.
A Hoya 49mm Skylight filter (1B), a (brand-free) lens cap, and a camera bag are included.
A small but realistic minimum price has been set at €79.
This camera is highly sought after due to its renowned lens quality, ease of use, and a lightweight (560 grams) to carry.
It is a valuable addition to any camera collection, but also a fantastic device for street photography.
Will be carefully packaged and shipped with a Track & Trace number and insurance.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
I always ship my goods with a Track & Trace number and insurance to guard against possible damage and theft.
This shipping cost is higher (but safer) and is mandatory for us (sellers) by Catawiki due to tracking possibilities.
I use Catawiki's "Smart Shipping" tool. This was developed after negotiations with several carriers and mail-order companies to offer better and cheaper shipping costs.
Everything happens automatically via Catawiki and I only receive a digital shipping label to print and attach to the package.
I also use a one-time handling fee of €10 that is added to the shipping costs.
Included: the time I spend packing, the packing box, the time I spend driving to and from the post office, and a contribution to fuel since my car does not run on water.
If you cannot agree with this, please do not place bids.
Thank you in advance.
