Grand Art Nouveau photograph frame - Varnished wood & brass ornaments - circa 1900-1920
Superb large horizontal Art Nouveau photograph frame from the period.
The wooden frame tinted dark reddish brown with a beautiful glossy varnished finish, accentuated by careful moldings. The front is adorned with elegant patinated brass appliques with sinuous floral motifs typical of the style, with a small matching fitting on the lower crosspiece.
Under the original glass, a green textile-like background (velvet or similar) features horizontal grooves allowing several photographs to be slid in. At the back: a substantial easel stand to display it and a possibility of wall mounting.
A beautiful antique decorative object, both functional and highly decorative, perfect for a library, an office, or a family photo collection.
