A splendid, matching pair of antique Neo-Gothic church candlesticks (altar candlesticks) circa 1900.
These heavy-quality candlesticks are made of brass (yellow copper) and have a beautiful authentic patina. They are very atmospheric and elaborately crafted with the iconic Neo-Gothic elements:
• Central roundel with a refined fleur-de-lis
• Beveled drip pans / grease catchers at the top
• Classic three-legged base with claw feet
• Sturdy, weighted bottom plate with central screw-rod construction, making them very stable
Both candlesticks are equipped with a traditional pricket to prick in a candle.
Condition:
Displayed in a beautiful, used antique condition without notable damage. The details and the beveled edges are still completely intact. Not polished to look new, so the lived-in character has been beautifully preserved.
As an extra, one used original church candle is included.
