A terrific effort from the team at La Gardine, the Châteauneuf du pape cuvée des Générations boasts incredible aromas of allspice and mulberries. It's a blend of 1/3 Grenache, 1/3 Syrah and 1/3 Mourvèdre matured in new barriques, but the oak is barely noticeable. This full-bodied wine is creamy on the mid-palate and then firmly tannic on the long finish, so give it some time in the cellar before popping a cork.
