With its enveloping feminine lines, Crinoline is an outdoor armchair whose name echoes the romantic 1800s skirts. The high-backed chair features a wide hollow base, echoed in the seat, and the curvature of the backrest. The seat cushion is upholstered in a beautiful outdoor fabric and is removable. Seat and backrest frame in aluminum with polyester powder coating, polyethylene fiber weave, thermoplastic material tips.

As the name suggests, the sinuously shaped design of this chair is inspired by the underskirt that supported the long voluminous skirts of the past. Three-dimensional textures and transparencies combine with soft, sinuous forms, creating a pleasant enveloping effect.

Patricia Urquiola, a designer and architect of Spanish origins, is one of the most brilliant female figures in contemporary design. In 2001 she founded Patricia Urquiola Studio with Alberto Zontone, which operates in product design, architecture, art direction and strategic consulting. Her approach is based on a fundamental principle: to conceive spaces or objects in relation to people. This philosophy is reflected in all of her works, regarded as major design masterpieces: from Moroso’s Fjord and Lilo armchairs, to Husk and Crinoline seating and the Bend Sofa by B&B Italia; from Kartell’s T-Table, to Boffi’s Salinas kitchen, to name a few.
