An 18‑coin Israel set from 1949 onward, comprising Pruta, Agora and Lira issues in an original black folder from the Israel Government Coins and Medals Corporation, in silver and UNC condition.
Description from the seller
Collection of 18 Israeli coins of various years dating from 1949. The set combines the early Pruta issues with later Agora and Lira coins, thus documenting the development of the Israeli currency.
The coins are presented in a black original folder from the Israel Government Coins and Medals Corporation, with a gold-colored emblem and company lettering on the inside.
Included are:
- 12 Pruta coins: 1 and 5 Pruta, three different 10-Pruta issues, 25 and 50 Pruta, two different 100-Pruta issues, twice 250 Pruta, and 500 Pruta.
- 4 Agora coins: 1 Agora and 5, 10 and 25 Agorot.
- 2 Lira coins: ½ Lira and 1 Lira.
Special highlights are the 500-Pruta coin from 1949 and the 250-Pruta issue from 1949 with mint mark H, each struck in 500/1000 silver. The second 250-Pruta coin is the copper-nickel version.
The coins show varying grades of preservation, some with a beautiful luster, patina, tarnish, and surface marks. The folder and inserts show age-related signs of use.
Contents: all 18 coins pictured, including the original folder. Please view the photos to assess the condition; they are part of the description.
