Art Deco walnut burl wood cocktail bar cabinet from the United Kingdom dating to the mid-1920s, featuring a waterfall silhouette, mirrored interior and a rare metal liquor dispenser, in good used condition.
Description from the seller
Exceptional and rare column bar cabinet (cocktail cabinet) Art Deco, dating from the mid-1920s and identified as a historic "Frothblowers Hospitality Cabinet."
The piece, with an elegant waterfall silhouette and veneered in fine flame birch, is characterized by a magnificent sunburst motif executed with skill on the doors.
Its standout feature is the ingenious self-opening mechanism, activated by the opening of the central lid that simultaneously raises the entire upper section. The interior is a stunning mirrored display meticulously equipped for hospitality: it includes perforated shelves with cutouts for bottles and glasses of various sizes, four side-mounted chrome metal holders, and, a very rare technical detail, an integrated metal alcohol dispenser/pourer.
The lower section offers a cabinet with a removable 10-hole bottle insert.
The name and design connect it directly to the Ancient Order of Froth Blowers (A.O.F.B.), a British social club founded in 1924 to promote "lubrication in moderation" and charity, making this piece a unique embodiment of 1920s culture and hospitality. The cabinet is in excellent vintage condition and perfectly functional, with a smooth mechanism, intact mirrors, and the metal dispenser present.
