Description from the seller
Hand-painted porcelain figure that is part of the collection of four small porcelain figures called: Le Fiabe: "Cappuccetto Rosso". This one belongs to the figure "Il Cacciatore" AMGI41SET, designed by Massimo Giacon and LPWK (Laura Polinoro Workshop) and produced by Alessi in 2013.
You can purchase this figure together with the other three shown on my profile and thus complete the entire collection of the four figures.
"Cappuccetto Rosso" (Little Red Riding Hood), "Il Lupo" (The Wolf), "La Nonna" (Grandmother) and "Il Cacciatore" (The Hunter) are part of Massimo Giacon's fairy-tale figure collection, created for the Alessi catalog. The Le Fiabe (Fairy Tales) series is intended for both adults who remember their childhood with affection and children who love to role-play characters from well-known stories.
The girl in the red cape ("Cappuccetto Rosso"), the smiling wolf ("Il Lupo"), the grandmother ("La Nonna"), and the hunter ("Il Cacciatore"), are, of course, characters from the famous Little Red Riding Hood tale, the first story depicted in the designs of this magical collection. The four small hand-painted porcelain figures presented here have been created in the designer's characteristic style. Massimo Giacon's attention to humor, as well as to detail and meticulous finish of his small works of art, make them the perfect gift for children, collectors, and followers of the Alessi brand.
Once upon a time there was a girl named Little Red Riding Hood, a very sweet girl who wore a hooded cloak of red velvet. One day, her mother asked her to take wine and focaccia to her sick grandmother, who lived in the forest. She warned her not to stray from the path, but when she reached the forest, Little Red Riding Hood met the wolf and began to talk to him, telling him where her grandmother lived. The wolf ran to the grandmother's house, swallowed her in one bite, and put on her clothes. Then he lay in bed, waiting for Little Red Riding Hood to arrive. When the girl entered her grandmother's house, she did not recognize the disguising wolf. Without hesitation, the wolf leaped from the bed and ate the girl; then he went back to bed and started snoring. A wolf hunter happened to be passing by. Curious, he approached. Seeing the wolf, he understood that he had eaten the grandmother, so he killed the animal and opened his stomach. Out came the grandmother and Little Red Riding Hood, safe and sound.
