Description from the seller

A splendid and rare vintage porcelain figurine of a girl on a hobby horse ("Bimba su Cavallo a Dondolo").

This high-quality artwork was designed in 1974 by the renowned Italian master sculptor Sandro Maggioni, active within the prestigious Capodimonte tradition.

The figurine is entirely handmade and painted in Italy. It is crafted from refined biscuit porcelain and has a high level of detail: from the expressive facial features of the girl to the delicate floral details on her dress and the swing beam.

This piece is largely in excellent condition and comes with the original certificate of authenticity ("Certificato di Origine"). A hand and a small arm and 2 fingers have been restored, as has a horse’s ear. The artist’s signature and the year (1974) are engraved on the green base of the hobby horse. A superb possession for the serious collector of classical European porcelain.
