AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

This pair of antique cassolettes is a classic model of late 19th-century art objects, fully in the Napoléon III style, strongly inspired by the Louis XVI taste.

The upper part: Made of bronze with a medal patina. The vegetal decoration is richly chiselled, depicting grapevines, leaves and grape clusters in relief, typical of Dionysian and bucolic ornaments of the era.
On each side of the bowls rise two geometric, braided-handled bronze handles with intricate scrolls.

Each cup rests on a fixed shower foot attached to a column of white Italian marble (Carrara marble). This column features softened vertical fluting.

The Base: The pedestal adopts a faceted octagonal shape. It is accented by two delicate pearl friezes (rows of pearls) in gilt bronze or brass, providing a bright contrast with the whiteness of the marble.

Magnificent testament to the refinement of the 19th century.

Dimensions: 23.5 cm high, 16 cm wide, 11 cm deep.

We are committed to providing as many photos as possible so you can assess the piece’s condition comfortably.
